Our History

Our bakers have been perfecting the “signature art of bread” since 1981. Home of the original Rudi Roll—the European-styled classic—Signature Breads today bakes over 125 premium varieties of bread and rolls, all with the same attention to quality and authenticity that made the original famous. A passion for excellence in bread making has carried throughout our history.
Beginning as small, independent bakeries, Rudi’s and Signature Breads became part of the Pillsbury/General Mills family of companies in 1994. Twelve years later, Signature employees purchased the company and have continued to grow and expand our offerings. Today, Signature Breads is the largest minority-owned baking company in the country.
